Fall 2022 Events and Destinations around Midland & Odessa

The end of the long Texas summer is finally in sight. If you’ve been staying indoors where it’s cool, we can’t blame you. Fall is around the corner and with it some far more reasonable temperatures. If you’re ready to get out and hit the road with a fresh ride from Rogers Ford, we have some suggestions for your destination this fall.

Fiddlesticks Farms Fall Festival

Get lost this fall at Fiddlesticks Farm, literally, if you like a good corn maze. The Fiddlesticks Farms Fall Festival kicks off in September and runs through November, so you’ll have lots of opportunities to visit. Once you find your way through the maze, you’ll have a huge pumpkin patch, goats to pet or walk, hayrides, and more! There’s also great food and more fun to be found, just a few minutes southeast of Midland.

Fall Gathering Ranch Story Telling

Looking for an interesting time and some great stories? The Haley Memorial Library and History Center’s Fall Gathering Ranch Story Telling event happens on October 1st, 2022. Listen to ranchers tell true stories about their lives and the challenges of running a ranch. Get a slice of the cowboy way of life from those who lived it at the Haley Memorial Library and Haley Park.  

Midland Downtown Farmers Market

The Midland Downtown Farmer’s Market is held every Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM and it’s a great fall destination for locally sourced produce. The produce on sale changes as the weather cools down so you’ll get into the mood with an appropriate selection of fall-themed veggies and baked goods. The Market is centrally located on the lawn of the Museum of the Southwest in Midland.

West Texas Fest

Hop next door to Odessa for the 6th Annual West Texas Fest! The Ellen Noël Art Museum puts on this annual event as a fundraiser that includes a great combination of attractions. There’s food, music, wine tasting, and axe throwing, though you may want to try one of those before the other. The event is capped off with the West Texas Fest Corn Hole Tournament!
