Fall Road Trip Destinations Around Midland

Odessa

Looking for a little old-world culture? Catch a show at the Globe of the Great Southwest, a theatre inspired by Shakespeare’s original Globe Theatre. For an educational good time, check out the Presidential Museum and Leadership Library, which chronicles the history of the presidency.

Carlsbad Caverns National Park

You’re just a few hours from one of the most famous national parks in the States, Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The striking beauty of the massive limestone caverns can be enjoyed at your own pace or with a guided tour. The park has attractions above ground as well as under, including hiking trails for backpacking. While they’re in town, stay to watch the bats emerge at sunset.

Big Bend National Park

If roomy caverns aren’t your speed, enjoy some big sky at Big Bend National Park. The big bend in question is on the Rio Grande River, but the park itself includes over eight hundred thousand acres. There’s no shortage of things to do on all that land. From over 150 miles of hiking trails to scenic tours by air, land, and river, you’ll find something to enjoy at Big Bend.
